Shae O. Omonijo
I am a multidisciplinary scholar and doctoral candidate in the Department of History at Harvard University. My work broadly centers on categories of belonging and the exclusion of people and objects. My historical research explores the relationship between exile, nationalism(s), and identity formation of marginalized communities in the British Empire. I received my A.B. in Political Science with Honors and a Minor in Human Rights from the University of Chicago.


Teaching
I received my teaching certificate from the Derek Bok Center for Learning and Teaching at Harvard University. I have been a Teaching Fellow in the Department of History at Harvard for two Harvard undergraduate courses. I also engage in public humanities work to make history accessible to all ages.

My research has been funded by the Center for African Studies at Harvard University, the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies at Harvard University, Jens Aubrey Westengard Fund, among countless others.
